Setup guide, 5 minutes
Welcome to the team

Your tasks live in Claude.
Just say hi.

Jenzo is our team's task tool. You ask Claude, and it shows your tickets, your messages and your timer. The same queue is on the web at your queue whenever you want it.

  • Claude connected to Jenzo as you, with your own token
  • A daily briefing every time you say Hi Nellie
  • Optional: your timer and queue one click away in Chrome
New chat
Hi Nellie
You are signed in as Ali (member).
Good morning, Ali. Nellie here.
2tickets need you today. TD-14 is due.
1new message from Sara.
Next: start your day, then pick up TD-14.
The first line is always your name
Step 1 of 5

Get your personal token

Your admin sends it to you in a private message. It is a long code that starts with td_. Keep that message open, you paste the token in step 2.

Your token is only for you.

Anyone who has it can act as you in Jenzo. Never post it in a group chat, a ticket or an email.

Why a token?

We all share one Claude account. Your token is how Jenzo knows it is you, so everyone sets up their own, on their own computer.

No token yet? Ask your admin for one. Lost it? They can give you a new one in a minute.

Step 2 of 5

Connect Claude on your computer

Pick the Claude you use. Not sure? Choose Claude Code.

If you use Claude Code

  1. It only fills in the command below. It never leaves this page.

  2. Copy this command
    Terminal
$ claude mcp add --scope user --transport http taskdesk https://api.jenzo.ai/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
  3. Paste it in Terminal and press Enter On a Mac: press Command + Space, type Terminal, press Enter. On Windows: open PowerShell.
  4. Check it is connected Run this. Next to taskdesk it should say Connected.
    claude mcp list
Do not have Claude Code yet?

Install it first. On a Mac, paste this in Terminal:

curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash

On Windows, paste this in PowerShell:

irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex

Then type claude, press Enter and sign in with the team Claude account. Now come back here.

What does this do?

It tells Claude Code on this computer to use Jenzo with your token. --scope user means it works in every folder.

Do not add Jenzo in claude.ai under Settings > Connectors.

That is shared by the whole team, so everyone would act as one person. The steps above set Jenzo up on your computer only.

Step 3 of 5

Say hi and check it is you

Start a new chat and send this:

Hi Nellie
Claude CodeIn Terminal, type claude, press Enter, then send it.
Desktop appClick New chat, then send it.
It shows your name

You are done. That is your briefing.

It shows another name

Stop. You have someone else's token. Ask your admin for yours.

What you should see. The first line is: You are signed in as and your name.

You are signed in as Ali (member).
Good morning, Ali. Nellie here.
What needs you today, what is new, and the next step.

Keep your own chat

We share one Claude account, so Claude itself does not know who you are. Jenzo does, because of your token.

  • Claude Code: your chats are saved on your computer only. Tomorrow, run claude --continue to pick up where you left off.
  • Desktop app: everyone sees every chat in the shared sidebar. Use one chat for Jenzo, rename it with your name (for example Ali: Jenzo) and star it. Or make a Project with your name.
  • Claude calls you by another name? Just say "I am Ali" or ask "who am I?". Jenzo always acts as you.
Step 4 of 5 Optional

Add the Chrome extension

Your timer, your queue and Start day in a side panel next to whatever you are working on, without opening Claude.

Chrome with the Jenzo side panel open on the right: your day, a running timer and your queue 1:12 Good morning, Ali Started 9:02 · 3h 20m today TRACKING NOW TD-14 Invoices 1:12 Stop timer URGENT Fix invoice exportTD-14 NORMAL Update pricing pageTD-9 New ticket Log time 1 2 3 4
  1. 1The Jenzo iconClick it to open the side panel. It also shows how long your timer has run.
  2. 2Your dayYour name, when you started and time tracked today. Start day and Close day live here.
  3. 3Running timerThe ticket you are on, ticking live. Stop it in one click.
  4. 4My queueYour tickets, most important first. Press play to track time, or click one to change its status, tick its checklist or comment.
  1. Download the extension Open the zip. You get a folder called taskdesk-extension. Move it to Documents and keep it there: Chrome loads it from that folder. Download taskdesk-extension.zip
  2. Turn on Developer mode In Chrome, open this address and switch on Developer mode (top right).
    chrome://extensions
  3. Load the folder Click Load unpacked and choose the taskdesk-extension folder.
  4. Sign in Click the puzzle piece next to the address bar and pin Jenzo. Click the Jenzo icon: the panel opens on the right. Paste your token, click Connect, then Allow. You should see your name and your queue.
Step 5 of 5 Optional

Add the Skill for Claude

A small add-on for Claude Code that teaches it how to use Jenzo: your tickets, timer, time logs and standup, in plain English.

  1. Download the skill Download taskdesk-skill.zip
  2. Unzip it into your skills folder Unzip into ~/.claude/skills/ so you end up with ~/.claude/skills/taskdesk/SKILL.md.
    unzip -o ~/Downloads/taskdesk-skill.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/
  3. Save your token and restart Add your token to your shell profile yourself (never paste it into a chat), then restart Claude Code and say what is on my plate?
    echo 'export TASKDESK_TOKEN=your-token-here' >> ~/.zshrc
Cheat sheet

Things you can say

Plain English works. Tap a phrase to copy it, then paste it into Claude.

Troubleshooting

Something not working?

Most fixes take a minute. Still stuck? Message your admin with a screenshot of what you see.

Claude does not use Jenzo, or shows none of my tickets
  • Quit Claude completely and open it again.
  • Claude Code: run claude mcp list. taskdesk should say Connected.
  • Desktop app: go to Settings > Extensions. Jenzo should be listed and switched on.
  • Then try: "Use Jenzo: hi".
It says Jenzo did not accept my token

Copy the token again, with no spaces before or after it.

  • Claude Code: run claude mcp remove taskdesk -s user, then do step 2 again.
  • Desktop app: Settings > Extensions > Jenzo, paste it, Save, then restart Claude.
Claude calls me Junaid, or someone else

Look at the first line of the Hi Nellie answer.

  • It says your name: all good. Claude was guessing from the shared account. Say "I am Ali" and carry on.
  • It says someone else's name: you are using their token. Ask your admin for your own.
The install screen does not open, or Install is greyed out

Update the Claude app first (Claude menu > Check for Updates). Then use Settings > Extensions > Advanced settings > Install Extension and pick Jenzo.mcpb.

The Chrome extension says "Request failed" or "Permission was not granted"

Open the Jenzo panel, click the settings icon (top right), check the server address is https://api.jenzo.ai, paste your token, click Save and then Allow. Updating from the old popup version? Remove it on chrome://extensions first, then load the new folder.

I lost my token, or shared it by mistake

Tell your admin. They give you a new one, and the old one stops working straight away.

I got a new computer

Do steps 2 and 3 again on the new computer. Your tickets and history live on the server, so nothing is lost.

For admins Team view, adding people

Admins get the same setup, plus a team view. Say Hi Nellie to see your own day and the whole team on one screen.

Things admins can say

Give a teammate access

On the server, create the person and their token. The token prints once:

Server
$ docker exec taskdesk python -m taskdesk.admin add-user --email [email protected] --name "Full Name" --role member

Send them the token in a private message, plus a link to this page. New token for someone: rotate-token --email ...

Private by design: you only ever see your own direct messages. Nobody, admins included, can read other people's DMs.
